Dinner in the mountains

I’ve always been curious. There are restaurants hidden way up in the hills. Who goes to them and how do they work? Well, tonight I went with John and Anna Lia and a Danish couple into the mountains for dinner. We drove up into one small town, Gualdo, only to discover the restaurant was closed. We’d just figure it would be open and had no reservation. But summer is over! After that, we tried another remote mountain village at the end of many tiny twisty roads. Again: restaurant closed.

Finally ended up in a great place, with great food and wine. Whew…

  1. Sounds fun and delicious. Me, I’m canning jams, chutneys, preserves, marmalade, etc. It’s fruit gleaning season and I’m using all the free fruit I can get.Over three dozen jars to date.

  2. Yes, retire!! Come over here and let’s go exploring…so many restaurants in the mountains!
