This post is, of course, dedicated to Tom. My brother was diagnosed with late stage pancreatic cancer a few weeks ago and we all went into shock!
Tom and his girlfriend took the shock to a place of joy when they decided, goshdarnit, to finally get married. So we had a zillion foods moments ( lunch, breakfast, etc) with lots of people as my brothers and I got to know Vikki’s family and friends.
We had breakfast with Tom and Vikki and Serena, who flew in from Portland OR. We had dinner with Tom’s daughters.
We had lunch the next day with the Carters (Tom’s close friends) and the Hursts (Vikki’s family).
All us siblings flew in for the big event and it was wonderful to be all around each other for a few days.
Tom looks good, is cheery, but can’t eat much and so has lost weight. That also makes him tired, so he spent a lot of time in or on his bed.
Xxx
I love these guys!!!
S0 sorry to hear about your brother. Glad he has been able to celebrate with you all . And of course all that good food. Love Pauline and pumpkin aka Zac. Come and see us xx
So glad you got to be there for the celebration. And you had practice at being a wedding photographer! How long has Tom been divorced from his daughters’ mom? How did he decide to wear a kilt!? Do they live on a boat?
It was the most special wedding I’ve gone to (since my own). Tom had proposed to Vikki last Christmas but Tom’s illness has spurred the date on. What joy to have all the siblings together! Vikki and her family are great fun and love Tom to no end. Tom’s has a great team at a great hospital; we send love and hugs while they send knowledge and medicine.
Brud also had it and decided on seeding which helped him alot!!! Hugs Cousin Marilyn
I love these pictures! So much love, celebration, and whimsy (flowers, shoes, kilts).
What a wonderful thing to do! Looks like everyone had a great time.
It was very lovely! Yes, I’ll come see you soon-ish! The bride is from Leicester!!
The kilt was a joke. He’d always wanted to do it so he and the bride’s father donned them. Very fun.
It was indeed fantastic! Full of love!
Seeding? What’s that? Hugs from me. 🙂
It was super fun. We loved helping our little brother enjoy his day. 🙂
They inserted little seeds of radiation I believe and he couldn’t hold a baby for 6 months etc etc and after that they x-ray and counted what was left and he had only passed 4 seeds. Brud spoke many times with the presdient in Intel in Seattle who had it done in SFO and flew home the same day and went to the office. Brud found a doctor here in Miami (Dr. Nash) who specialized in the procedure. Best of luck. Hugs (I kept a chart of all his GLEASON TESTS and saw improvement,,,,but he has been gone now 15 years and I am sure there are better improvements.
Not sure if I cancelled by reply..you know how dumb I am on computers and phones., Dr. S. Nash in Miami did the seeding…Brud contacted the president of INTELL in Seattle who had had seeding and asked many questions…no down time so he looked for a doctor here in Miami
Never heard of this. Will pass it on to Tom.
